Give timeframe or change dharna venue: Police to Anna

The Delhi Police have asked social activist Anna Hazare and his team to give a definite timeframe for their strike on Jantar Mantar against the Lokpal Bill or choose a venue on the outskirts of the capital for any indefinite sit-in.

The Delhi Police has said they could not give permission for indefinite dharna anywhere in Delhi, including at Jantar Mantar as Parliament will be in session from August 1.

Police authorities said a single group could not be allowed to capture the entire space at Jantar Mantar as many groups conduct protests during Parliament Session.

Authorities have imposed prohibitory orders in and around Parliament House in view of the Monsoon Session.
Anna Hazare has announced to go on hunger strike from the 16th of next month.
